Footballers We (Probably) Never Knew About | Sudip Simkhada

Sudip Simkhada

In a football team, there is a goalkeeper, defender, mid-fielders, forwards, and center forward. Everyone has their own roles and responsibilities. My family members represent each of these players. They as a whole are a complete football team.

Goalkeeper- Mother

To start with the goalkeeper, my mother is the goalkeeper in our family. She stops the external affairs from directly affecting the family members.  She saves us from getting sick with her special home-remedy medicine. The best example is “sirebire nun(salt)”. As a goalkeeper is limited to be around the rectangular penalty area, my mother is mostly busy looking after family and her job.

She cannot run outside of her comfort zone to enjoy her personal life. But, she has one unique power. As a goalkeeper is the only player in the game who is allowed to use his hands to stop the ball, my mother gives proper direction to the family. That’s why there is one saying that “If we educate a boy, we educate one PERSON, but if we educate a girl, we educate a FAMILY”. This means that if a goalkeeper of a family is strong, powerful, and well-disciplined, the team can focus on scoring higher goals in life.

Defender-Father

My father is a good defender of the team. He is good in Center Forward too. He, following his responsibility, stops the opposing team from entering into the family. He tactfully defends any crisis to approach in the family. That’s why he is a defender. He is a dangerous and strong player in the game. He makes sure the ball representing household problems doesn’t reach the goalpost. If needed, he becomes the striker of my family. He is basically the leading goal scorers in the family. He takes most of the decisions in the family.

If he sees the ball moving towards the post, he uses all his strength to fight back and snatch the ball from the opponents. He makes sure the right opportunities are given to these family members.

Forwards-Children

Before talking about midfielders, I want to discuss about ‘forwards’.

We, sons and daughters, are Forwards. Our only aim is to score goals or to create an easy situation for our family to score a goal. All prestige and hope of family rely upon our skills and presentation. If we get the ball, we should hit them targeting the opponent’s goal post.

Never be scared or afraid, if we lose the ball because defender and goalkeeper are always there to save us. Similarly, in life, if we shouldn’t worry about failing, because even if nobody is there, our parents will always be there to correct us and support our effort.

It’s up to us to focus on our goal and play as a legendary player plays for the team.

Mid-Fielders- Relatives & Friends

Talking about Midfielders, they always run around my family. Though they are part of our family, they never act like one. In other words, Midfielders are stakeholders of family. They might be our relatives, friends, loan providers, and many more. They will support us as a team but won’t take direct credit for winning. The progress of family directly depends upon them, sometimes with their help and sometimes being afraid of them.

In this way, I can portray my family as football team players. But only if we play as a team can we win the game.
