My mind is in turmoil like the storm outside
It is raining outside bringing peace to the people from the scorching sun
But I am begging for the same mental peace
The raindrops keep on trickling down endlessly
Same as the tears from my almond eyes
I am scarred with his touch
Begging to get salvation from all those assaults
Hey, raindrops would you wash away my trauma too?
I have heard rain purifies the earth
Would it shower on me and help me get rid of the disgust I felt because of his filthy hands?
I want to go in the rain to remove those handprints of the inappropriate touches
Want to felt secure and untouched
Hey, raindrops would you help in washing away my trauma too?
I am getting tired of all those assaults this society has imposed on me from a younger age
I was learning my alphabets
Eating my chocolate
When a pedophile thought of using me as he pleases
I was just entering my adolescent
When a grown-up bastard thought of treating me like a rag doll
I was just going through my teen years
When I was harassed on my way to school
Hey, raindrops would you help in washing away my trauma too?
My tear has been endless just like your pouring
When each of your droplets falls inland it heightens my sense
I feel euphoric but I can’t enjoy you properly
Because I am afraid of going outside
Afraid of all the terrors this world imposes
But looking at how powerful nature can change the weather in just a span of time
I too fight on keeping myself grounded with these problems.
Hey, raindrops would you help in washing away my trauma too?
You fall to the ground like an angel bringing best to the nature
I too would like to keep on being my best version even in this twisted world.
You are a sign of hope and I would like to be a symbol of courage
The way you bid goodbye and let the sunny weather in
I hope I can leave my insecurities back and embrace myself
But I hope you keep on being my inspiration
So one last time I would ask,
Hey, raindrops would you help in washing away my trauma too?
