Ah, the 90s.
Agree or not, you can’t deny the hype of the 90s music. Because why not?
Music was evolving then; the hip hops, grunge, pop, and R&B genres, each one of them. It was the decade where the music got a new face, where artists were creative to refine the style of the previous era and to add dimension to the 90s vibe.
The music was gold; from radio stations to Walkman and CDs, music hits were played everywhere. Buying cassettes and CDs, people were crazy about music.
I grew up listening to these songs; listening to them once in a while refreshes the memories. So, go through the list, press the links, sing-along, and relive your memories.

Smells like teen spirit – Nirvana
Genre: Alternative/Indie, Punk, Rock

Released in 1991, “Smells like teen spirit” was an instant hit around the world. The song was embraced as a crossover anthem; still an iconic song today.

Album: Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves
This was a record-breaker single released in 1991, also featured as the soundtrack of “Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves”. This love song was played constantly on the radio; one of the favorites of the decade.

Recorded for the movie “The Bodyguard”, the song was released in 1992. This well-known tune “I will always love you” that we often hear today, has won two Grammys.

Bed of roses – Bon Jovi

Album: Keep the faith
Released in the year 1992, “Bed of roses” is a powerful ballad. With lyrics full of emotions, the guitar riffs, and the soft piano playing, this is a beautiful song; one of my favorites.

No get-together or parties were complete without this song playing. This club song that was released in 1993 was no doubt a perfect, upbeat, and catchy song to dance to.

A protest song with a powerful message, this classic was released in 1993. This song immediately got a No.1 spot in several countries; undeniably a well-composed song.

Released in 1994, his first single became the greatest hit. With his natural storytelling ability, this iconic song is still considered one of the greatest hip-hop songs of all time.

Released in 1996, their debut single “Wannabe” is an up-tempo dance-pop. The goofy video and its lyrics are catchy enough; lip-syncing and dancing to this song is irresistible.

The iconic theme song was the talk of the town after its release to the blockbuster movie “Titanic” in 1997. Many of us were in love with the song and honestly, who hasn’t cried listening to this powerful ballad?

Bagging the MTV Video Music Award for Best R&B Video in 2000, this song was gaining popularity for its vocal riffs and stunning harmonies. Released in 1999, this song was all over the radio and TVs.
There are hundreds of songs from the 90s that brings back memories of our times. In no way, I could sum it up in a list of ten. However, I tried to make it as diverse as I can to list the hits of the 90s.
