5 Inexpensive HACKS for Healthy Skin

Skincare has often been a neglected topic – we rather lean on makeup than take good care of our skin. One of the many reasons we neglect skincare is because we believe it to be an expensive routine. Keeping your skin healthy and young doesn’t necessarily mean expensive products and surgeries. Our consistent effort can go a long way.

It is obvious we defy aging however, we can choose to age gracefully, can’t we?

Here are some inexpensive hacks to achieving healthy skin:

  1. Eat a balanced and healthy diet

What we eat is as much important as what we put on our skin. We often overlook the idea of being healthy from within and diet surely plays a crucial role in determining the state of our body and skin from inside out.

As we age, our skin tends to look dull and lifeless. Hence, it is absolutely necessary to consume foods rich in antioxidants, Omega-3, zinc, and Vitamin As in order to avoid those. So, if you want clear skin, devour those fruits and vegetables.

  1. Drink lots of water

Whenever we are sick, our parents have always suggested us to drink water – a lot! Similarly, water can also help reduce a lot of skin problems too; acne, dryness, and oiliness are a nightmare. Overall, it helps get rid of the toxins.

Looks like water can be a solution to a lot of our problems after all. So, increase your water intake and see how your skin gives off a radiant glow in a couple of weeks.

  1. Exercise regularly

Regular exercise is one of the best ways for healthy skin. It helps improve blood circulation, spreading oxygen and nutrients throughout the body. It also promotes collagen production and new skin cells which aid in anti-aging.

So run, jog or do yoga – do it regularly; not only will it benefit your body, it will improve your skin health too. And, always remember to keep your face sweat-free post-workout.

  1. Beauty sleep

Did you know that our skin heals itself at night to recover from environmental exposure? It isn’t called beauty sleep for no reason. During deep sleep, our body enters repair mode and regenerates skin, muscles, and blood and brain cells.

The good news is that quality sleep is a free remedy for dark circles and uneven skin tone. Who knew one of the laziest activities is actually beneficial? However, mind the sleeping hours.

  1. Don’t skip the sunscreen

The emitted UV rays are very harmful to our skin; the long waves (UVA) and short waves (UVB) plays a vital role in aging and causing burn respectively. Sunscreen has many benefits – not only does it slow aging and prevent burn, it also protects our skin from skin cancer and photoaging.

We don’t want to speed up our aging or burn our skin, do we? So, never go out in the sun without sunscreen and do apply them every 2 hrs.

What more do we need when we have healthy skin to show off? However, healthy skin is not something that we achieve overnight – it takes time and persistence.
