Top 5 Tools and Apps for Writers
What writing tools and apps do you use while writing an article? I use many, and among them, I am listing the top 5 tools and apps for writers like me.
Before I start writing I sit down and read. I do some research about the topic I am writing about for a better understanding.
I jot down the major ideas on paper and start writing. Once I complete my initial draft, I take the help of writing tools to give a professional touch to it.
These 5 tools and apps help writers like me to write better every time.
Today, I am sharing the same 5 tools and apps that I use before crafting my final draft. They’re free to use and you can use those tools for improving your writing career too. Here I present to you my favorite 5 Writing Tools and Apps:
#1. Tools and Apps: Grammarly
We, writers also make mistakes.
While writing my first draft, I make plenty of grammatical errors. Spelling mistakes, punctuation errors, and basic grammar mistakes fall under these categories.
You know in writing, every single element of grammar matters. So, to make my writing free of typographical errors I use the ‘Grammarly’ app.
I have downloaded this app on my laptop. Every time I write, it detects my typo errors. You can also add this tool as an extension of your browser. Then, it will automatically detect the basic errors that we cross by. Isn’t that cool?
This way, you don’t have to be a grammar expert to proofread all your initial writings. It is a helpful tool that you can use for free and take for granted.
But hey, it’s always better to learn grammar by yourself than depending on these tools.
Tips: It is programmed software. So, don’t completely rely on this app. Use common grammar learnings to identify minor mistakes. Yet, I recommend you to use this app for cross-checking. Also, for early grammatical error detection.
#2. Tools and Apps: Duplichecker
You complete an article doing your full-research and all. You send it for publication and in response, receive a mail saying ‘Copyright Detected’.
Ouch! It feels frustrating right?
I have faced the problem earlier by myself.
That’s why I am recommending you to use this app ‘Duplichecker’.
It’s a free tool to use online to detect plagiarism issues if there are any. If this app detects a copied or look-a-like paragraph or phrase on your writing, sit to rewrite them.
Amateur bloggers copy and paste from a different website to create a new looking article. But, doing so is unauthentic and illegal in reality. One mustn’t copy from others without their consent or without citation.
One can read, learn, and write them in their own way. If it still gets a copyright issue, use this writer’s app to detect them earlier and replace them with new words.
If this tool shows a green flag meaning ‘100% Original’ content, you are free to publish them anywhere or any time.
Tips: Completely avoid plagiarism and practice writing original articles. That will create higher chances of getting your writing published anywhere.
#3. Hemingway Editor
Writer ‘Ernest Hemmingway’ is famous for his short and simple writings.
Inspired by his writing, Hemmingway App emerged. This writing tool is a great tool for writers. I love using it. It simplifies your complex sentences scaling the readability quality of your writing.
It also gives a rating for your writing standard. Getting ‘Grade 3-5’ means your writing is good.
It suggests breaking down your long complex sentences into short-simpler sentences. This makes it easier for readers to understand your content.
As a reader, we love reading short sentences right? This app helps get your readers’ attention by making them short, simple, and sweet.
There are many features attached to it. You can use them for free and take full benefit of Hemmingway’s writing style.
Tips: It is not mandatory to follow Hemingway’s style of writing using the app. Your writing style may vary. Give this app a try. If it works for you, use it, or find an alternative writing tool.
#4. 750 Words
This app is cool. It’s an app for writers to practice writing.
‘750 Words’ app is a free tool for writers to enhance their writing habits. It creates a virtual workspace to write every day. It’s a good place to start your journal writing.
If you look at the life of a full-time writer, you will notice them writing every day.
It helps them to form a writing habit and enhance their writing capacity. So, you can adapt that good habit in your life too.
And this app creates a perfect platform for writers to join a community full of writers who write every day.
Give it a try for yourself, you will enjoy and benefit for sure.
#5. Trello
Ideas for writings come randomly to the majority of us. We sometimes make sticky notes, or write them on paper and lose it. We start with one topic and get stuck in the middle of it, and we start with a new topic.
This way, we create a bunch of messy incomplete document files.
To manage them all comes ‘Trello’. An app to track everything and manage your messy works.
It’s not limited to the writer’s use only. But can aid to manage your journals, scribbles, random ideas, writing projects, and more.
It’s easy, flexible and a good tool to manage your tasks and writing projects.
Tips: Trello is one of many apps to help manage your messy projects. You can find many alternatives if you don’t find this one useful.
Once your writing completes, you can send them for publication.
You can send them to newspapers, online news portals, or popular publishers. But, in this competitive writing market, there are fair chances of getting rejected. Your hard work might get wasted.
Tips: As an option ‘B’, you can publish those writings via free publishing writing platforms.
You can also create your own website through bloggers, wix.com, and word-press.
But it’s better to seek option B rather than starting a new website of your own.
That’s for now.
How did you find these 5 tools and apps for writers? Would you recommend any tools and apps to your friend writers? I would be happy to get your feedback.
Happy Writing!
