Fear | Poem by Ayush Karki

I can hear the sound of the clock
Getting louder and my heartbeat trying to compete
The heartbeat was countdown the whole life I couldn’t realize
For it gets louder when the end comes near
And we die when it stops

I could see a ray of light piercing through the wall of darkness
And I grow scared of that light
As it stares at me
Waiting for me to close my eyes
I’m scared to even blink, to even look away for a moment
As with every blink, the light gets brighter
I’m afraid if I close my eyes it won’t open ever again

I can hear the sound of the wind, of the rain
He hides his laugh behind the howling of the wind
He hides his footsteps on each drop of rain
I can’t see I can’t hear anyone coming near but I can feel
That I’m sure someone is here except me
And that someone is no ally

The night gets darker the wind blows harder and the raindrop splats so loud
My heart beats louder than the clock
Lot faster I’m sure it echos throughout the world
And the light is glowing so bright, so red like the eyes of devil ready to kill
