5 Amazing Series to Binge Watch

In my previous article, I talked about my personal favorite series under action-thriller, suspense-mystery drama, crime, spy, and these sorts of thrilling genres. That list was just a miniature version of the list of my favorite shows.

Today, I am bringing you five more of such an amazing series but I decided not to stick on to one genre. Instead, I will just be writing about my favorite shows and not specifying any category. So, let’s go on with the list.

  1. Stranger Things:

It is an American Sci-Fi horror mystery series with 8.8 out of 10 IMDB ratings.

The show is shot in the setting of the 1980s and is about a supernatural force exploited by the government which is witnessed by a group of young friends. The deeper these friends went for the answers, the more extraordinary mysteries they unravel.

The show is entertaining as well as powerful and depicts the limitless imagination of science and technology. It will also give you an overview of what happens when science experiments are done over humans.

What I liked about the show is that all of the characters in the show are equal, no one is lead or supporting, instead, the characters are either permanent or temporary. Overall, the show is very entertaining and realistic and will give you goosebumps as you watch it.

2. Breaking Bad:

It is an American drug crime series with a 9.5 out of 10 IMDB ratings and the show is about a chemistry teacher who gets diagnosed with cancer so he gets into the meth business to pay his medical bills. He gets on board with one of his ex-student and together they prosper through this illegal business.

Every action has its reaction and oftentimes you do not have any redeem for it, and this happened with the teacher who neither could go back to being just a teacher nor can come clean with his family. As these two get deeper into the business, they lose their loved ones and had to go through many hardships.

The interesting part of the series is that the teacher thought to leave a good sum of amount to his handicapped son in case he gets caught doing the business and that’s the reason he gets pushed deeper and deeper into this mess. The show does not hit you hard at first but as you move on you cannot stop. The strong writing and execution of this show are what kept it running.

The series is definitely a good add-on to the list.

3. Vikings:

It is a historical action-fiction series with 8.5 out of 10 IMDB ratings. The shows give you a very realistic picture of how the societies or kingdoms used to operate, how they executed the attacks, how they survived without anything and how people looked up to a particular person as their protector.

In simple words, the story is centred around Ragnar Lothbrok, a farmer turned into the most popular name in Vikings history. The show is a mix of war, friendship, emotions, creativity and anything you want.

Though I lost my interest when Ragnar dies, it is a great watch for those who love history because it not just blatantly provides an overview of the history but has added realistic drama and events that are very likely to be possible and has executed it in such a way that the viewer can actually relate to it.

It is a must-watch show and I highly recommend it.

4. The Crown:

It is a historical drama series with 8.7 out of 10 IMDB ratings.

This show is based on the real-life of Queen Elizabeth II from the 1940s to modern times. It gives you a possible inside look at the life of Queen Elizabeth II and the royal family.

It is one of the most expensive show but I can vouch that every penny is spent wisely and worth it. From writing to directing to set, costumes and acting, everything is just outstanding.

This show has given a very clear inside look of the royals and how their lives function. The British Monarchy is well portrayed through this show and made me think how they are the most popular family and how very little is known about them. If you are a sucker for history like me then there is nothing more convincing and enlightening then this show.

If you have not watched it yet, then go watch it before I say something mean!

5.  13 reasons why:

It is an American teen drama mystery thriller series with 7.6 out of 10 IMDB ratings.

The story is very relatable to young high school students who are struggling with their mental health every day. It depicts the real social issue in our community that compels people to take their own life and how it impacts other people around them.

The story starts when Hannah commits suicide and a group of friends find 13 tapes that give reasons for her actions. The show got lots of negative comments saying it is offensive and portrays teens who are suicidal as vengeful.

But what I believe is it actually showed the real reason why people go through an unstable mental state and what leads them to end their lives. It has also shown how others lives are impacted and how they react when they find out their part in pushing someone to kill themselves.

The show is very real and practical with a little drama added but is a good watch.

I bet most of you have watched the series listed above and if you have not please watch it. I guarantee you will not regret it. I will be coming up with another article about the shows that I watched during the pandemic period till now. Till then enjoy whatever you are watching.
