His Question: ‘Why Do Girls Wear Bras?’ | Samrita Maharjan

He waved to her from outside, gave her a sign to come to talk with him. She, despite being in the middle of lunch stood up and left. Her friend asked her to make him wait. But she smirked at her and said, ‘I wish, I could.’

Has this ever been to you? Getting a feeling of uneasiness, being petrified, poignant, and loathe. Yes, I mean all at the same time. And how do you deal with such situations?

He was twenty steps away, and it took three minutes to reach her. She was adjusting her kurta. Also, the shawl to wrap her neck properly. She pretended to smile to look presentable and kind. But her inner voice didn’t want to talk with him. The closer she was getting the more distracted she was being. ‘Oh! Grasses, Such a beautiful stone! Pretty leaves, right?’ And she was only an evil five steps away.

There they were two, finally together. They were chatting but nothing important to be precise. She wanted to go back and finish her leftover. How on earth can one not sense that the other person is uncomfortable around him/her? Sometimes, she blames herself for being friendly even around those who deserve a slap on their face. Then he asked, ‘Why do women need to wear bras?’ Now, she was shocked and super awkward. How can he ask her that question randomly? She should have told him to ask her wife or his mother. But hesitantly replied, ‘I don’t know.’

What do you think about this person? Yes, right there, a pervert. An ass. Don’t mistake me, but sometimes someone’s touch, someone’s language, or one stare is enough for you to stop tolerating. Could he now possibly ask me, is it okay to rape?

Am I overthinking? I don’t know. But it felt insulting and denouncing to me.
