Street | Poem by Ayush Karki

Ram Chaulagain

Too many places to visit-
Yet, I chose to look at the street.
As it has so much to say,
So much to show throughout the day.
A lot of joy to a lot many tears.
Uncountable breaking news happens here
Huge wars to a domestic dispute-
Nasty crimes to peace rallies for few,
All these mixed scents in the street,
But no-one stops to observe for a bit.
More than the virtual stuff, it connects the people,
And I come every day to gaze at the beauty,
To capture everything this street has to offer.

I see a rush of people in the street,
So alike, but full of their own ambition and own dream,
Some come for a walk, some have elsewhere to reach.
Some come with joy, some with a broken heart to stitch.
Some call it home, some just stay for a bit.
And I come to stare at the street,
As immeasurable stories and emotions flood through it.
