THE WINTER BLUES | Poem by Ranjit K Sahu

Everest base camp

Tossing up the cool winds into the blue

High branches nod to the song of winter

Evening darkens the live mind  early too

With the fire place throwing  sparks and  splinters

In the long hours of enduring darkness

Nascent feelings evolve into passions

That imprison  heart in complete starkness

Emptying its storage of deep emotions

Resisting waves of forsaken  kinships

Bathed in loneliness night passes away

Little caring for forgotten  friendships

Under sulking stars its finds its own way

Evening ushers in the blue moods for night

Slaying the sparse smiles on lips with all its might
