The 5 types of friends I have | Gaurav upreti

Over the years of my life, I have met many friendly people. Among the multitude of people around me, most of them are simply just “friends”. And, there are only a few of them in my “mate squad” who are simply amazing in one or the other way. Life would definitely be far and away boring without them.

These people are the one who consistently share with me the inspiration, the laughter, the joy, the miseries and often join for a casual trip to a mo:mo hut or a tea shop. Let me categorize a few of my good friends. My friendship note may be helpful for others as well to better understand the essence of friendship.

The nasty school bestie

Some of the school mates are still my besties. Juyesh, my high school friend has always been there to revive our old days. When we get together we feel as if the time has not passed by and we can pick right back up and turn back into nasty person we were in high school. We have been through the ups and downs but have always guaranteed a good time together.

The one with a wild humor

I have some friends who never fail to blow the punchlines. One of my such friends is Abhishek. This witty guy makes me laugh until I cry with laughter. He is the guy who can convince you that proposing a married woman is a good idea.

He knows my darkest secrets and he cheers on my success. He knows what my favourite movies are and never fails to remind me of the new SRK release . He is the one who calls me at the very early dawn to share his late night scandals, And, i am always excited to listen to him. Friends in the squad call him “killer”. He is too good to blow someone’s mind simply with his absurdity. I love him

The one with an emotional intelligence

Only a few guys in my squad are dumb brain. Otherwise, most of them are smart dicks. The best in this category is Gehanath- a super intelligent guy yet an emotional soul. We have had a lot of conversations together and most of our conversations go round the topics like “life” “career” “family” “science” “world” “philosophy” “literature” and so on. I remember a bus ride (Kathmandu-Jhapa) where we went seriously busy for the whole journey talking about the bottomless topics like God, life and human existence. Usually, I am a superficial being when it comes to this kind of topic but every time I am with this guy , I feel like I am completely saturated in the conversation. He is truly a pleasant heart.

The adventure partner

There is a quote”life was meant for a great adventure and close friends”. Truly, close friends and great adventure together makes your life worthwhile. I am lucky to have this kind of dare hearted friends without whom I would have never imagined some of the wildest experiences.
Durga and Sudesh have been my daring partners for a long time. We have together stepped out the comfort zones, walked through the mud, and done incredible journeys together.

A friendly piece of cake

This kind of friend is hardest to find and once you have them in your life you don’t want them to go away. My friend Kishor is a real piece of cake. A tech savvy friend who is ready to receive my call at midnight to fix a HTML error. A loyal friend who hangs to me even when i am gone way-out. I can shout him, I can rap him and still he can be true and honest to me. This fool is my real life oracle.
