I get this rush of feelings deep down my heart,
Is the time flying or am I growing up too fast?
My mind questions me till it gets all dark,
They say this world changes, will my youth last?
In the world of attaching and detaching too fast,
Breaking hearts, people tear each other apart.
Lust overcomes the most and comes up on the top,
Is this what happened all the time in the past?
Our culture is dying and the nation is crying,
There are bare lands, our rivers are drying.
This hurts the heart that beats for Earth,
People talk about ‘Saving Earth’, but are they all not lying?
Now flies the time, I sit here and dine,
I’ll think of my life, I’ll say it’s fine.
After a glass of wine, I will whine,
Just as I have never lived my life right.
A child to a teenager- now I want to shine,
I can see how badly I wanted this to rhyme.
I will live because it’s my time,
Yes, the time flies but I will catch mine.
