Mountain Spring | Poem by Ranjit K Sahu

Everest base camp
Melting from the icy summits it flows
Over slopes strewn with stones and tough rocks
Under the eyes of the spring sun it glows
Not fearing but clearing stumbling blocks
Treading the trails and threading canopies
A green garland it weaves on its way
In the terrains of fleeting agonies
Neatly laying the carpet for spring’s play
Sometimes slow and some times briskly it runs
Presiding the lands that it passes through
Roaring and gurgling, laughing having fun
Its loneliness as solo songs its strews
Not turning back ever on its long trip
Gladly into night’s cosy lap it slips.
Ranjit K.Sahu
