Celebrating the Elegance of Womanhood | Moiz Khan

‘Women’ itself symbolizes various aspects of life such as love, beauty, humbleness, politeness, patience, responsible, and many more. Women are found to be one of the most beautiful creatures on Earth.

Feminine which means ebullience is the most beautiful and powerful dimension of one’s life. If the feminine energy is lost on the planet there would have been nothing existing till the date. Society can never exist or flourish without knowing the importance of empowering the Feminine.

When I say I’m a feminist, I don’t speak up loud as a female as I keep my representation of being female aside who believes in feminism to demean or degrade people who belong to varying different ideology or have a different approach towards these issues.

I rather represent myself as a feminist to fight for the rights of the oppressed and dominated ones to ensure that all people can enjoy at least their basic rights and respect- regardless of their identity, race, color, culture, religion, country, or even gender basis.

In the past, since feminism seemed to be an unknown subject among the public mass, and talking about the present scenario of feminism, it has been hugely misunderstood by many of the people around rather than having more knowledge and supportive feelings regarding this issue.

In history, the first-wave feminism in 1948 was focused on demanding the right to vote, as well as employment, education, right to own property, and ending of women’s suffrage. This movement was quite successful in providing the right to vote for black men (1870) and all women around (1920) in the US. The second and third waves also took place in the following years ensuring equal pay, right to use birth control, right to educational equality, and fight for transgender rights. [1]

Feminism has been able to fight against various issues like women’s suffrage, racism, discrimination, body shaming, wars, slavery, and has addressed issues like the right to divorce, civil rights, abortion rights, and sexual freedom. Feminism has changed the philosophy of the world where we are living, and as it is continuously able to bring lots of changes so far, there have been many manipulations and misconceptions regarding the meaning of the word.

A part of being a good feminist is about learning where this all has started and how much we’ve already achieved our goals regarding this movement. It is high time to understand that feminism is not against men or only compared with men. It’s against being secondary to men, and to submit to men’s dictates. This is all a concept of equality that mustn’t only lift women upward while pushing or dropping male personnel downward, instead of lifting all of us together up to a point.

Men and women should have the same opportunities, the same range of payment, and the same respect and dominant character should come to an end now. The achievements of the women’s movement should remain the same in the countries where women in all their diversities are elevated, the government is accountable to women and feminists have security, safety, and amplified power.

The movement should shift to the side of the globe where women are still suffering and heal the whole world. When this war against women is finally over, every human will rise together. The world created will be brave & equal. Today, feminists continue to fight for the issues that they have been fighting since the 18th century. While a majority of the issues have been addressed and some even abolished, issues like reproductive and menstrual health still aren’t discussed enough. Feminism at depth is about the equality of men and women.

Feminism seems to be a good idea but this has both pros and cons. Feminism has made women gain equality, the right to vote and participate in the election, made females able to speak in public and demand their right at the same time anti-male activities, fake harassment reports are increasing day by day because of women gaining certain attitudes.

Due to this many people support the concept whereas many people criticize it. They believe men and women have different physical capabilities, these physical differences mean equality is not possible. Since feminism is associated with empowering and making women powerful, many people fear that men will eventually lose power, influence, impact, authority, and control, and economic opportunities.

Some people even believe negative shifts in the relationship, marriage, cultural trend, economic activities, etc. The patriarchal trend of a society that gave birth to inequality seems to be the seed that allowed the concept of feminism to germinate. Then women and many men in history started to question themselves “When a man is born of a woman, how can he be superior and she inferior?”

Lastly, feminism has evolved from “Do not respect an opinion that disrespects women” and “She is in no way inferior to you; don’t treat her like one” to “She is able in everything in her own ways” and comparing her with him all the time is nothing like feminism but a competition to match the masculinity.
